She was also able to graduate from there and then she joined Southern Methodist University and she majored in Theatre.She finally received her Bachelor of Arts degree from there in 1969.She was nominated for a Tony Award in 1983 for her stage role in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play 'night, Mother with Anne Pitoniak. One of her other successful New York stage productions was, Off Broadway, in Terrence Mc Nally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune which ran 533 performances and for which she won an Obie Award for Best Actress in 1988.
